St. Walburga Reliquary

Church of St. Peter, Munich, Germany
Acquired before 1737

This sculpture has all the features of the typical image of St. Walburga: a flask on a book, a crozier, a Benedictine habit, and a crown. Even the silver swags on the case below are given the shape of corn stalks, an older attribute of this saint.
